Job summary

Optical Cable Corporation is seeking a Respooler Operator II for the night shift to support the production of fiber optic cable. You will select cables, set up respooling, print and inspect during manufacturing, and ensure accurate documentation. The role emphasizes mechanical aptitude, teamwork, and strict adherence to safety procedures.

Regular schedule is 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. with potential overtime; physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; six months related experience or training preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to operate a machine in production.
• Ability to read and follow basic instructions and adhere to quality procedures.
• Strong math and handwriting skills; precise documentation required.
• Team-oriented with minimal supervision and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Selects cable to respool/strip/cut/print according to production priorities.
• Sets up and respools standard cable products.
• Prints finished cables and removes print residue.
• Inspects cables for defects and reports issues to supervisor.
• Completes job documentation accurately.
• Operates safely following all procedures.
