Job summary

AFL Telecommunications, LLC is seeking a Fiber Optic Process Technician to join our Dallas lab. You will set up prototype builds, run process trials, and evaluate tooling while following strict safety and quality guidelines.

You will operate termination equipment, splicers, and lab systems, document results, and collaborate with R&D engineers to drive process improvements and throughput. This role is on-site with a hybrid-friendly culture for select activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate or associate degree preferred.
• 2+ years in manufacturing, process support, or lab or engineering tech roles preferred; fiber termination/splicing experience valued.
• Hands-on with tools, fixtures, equipment setup, mechanical assembly, process trials, or prototype builds.
• Ability to follow work instructions and safety procedures; strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and support prototype builds, process trials, tooling evaluations, and lab activities.
• Operate fiber optic termination equipment, fiber splicers, and lab equipment per instructions.
• Build, inspect, and document samples for engineering evaluation and testing.
• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and improve repeatability, throughput, and quality.
• Record process data and observations clearly and promptly.
• Assist with fixture setup, equipment changes, and lab readiness for development work.
