Job summary

Aspen Utility Company is seeking a Telecom/Fiber Optic Designer to design, plan, and document fiber optic and telecom network infrastructure projects. You will support outside plant (OSP) and inside plant (ISP) design, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.

Responsibilities include developing detailed designs, BOMs, and construction drawings, plus collaborating with engineers and construction teams. Strong GIS/CAD skills and 2+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in telecom fiber design and network planning.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and maps.
• Familiar with GIS and CAD drafting tools.
• Strong collaboration with engineers, project managers, and field teams.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Design fiber optic networks including backbone and last-mile layouts.
• Develop OSP/ISP designs, route plans, and construction drawings.
• Perform capacity planning and splice planning.
• Support permit acquisition and field surveys.
• Review as-built docs and update network records.
• Contribute to design audits and quality control.
