Job summary

EnterSource is seeking a skilled Directional Driller to operate HDD equipment for underground fiber optic and conduit installations. Travel to project sites and outdoor work in varying conditions are expected. You will read maps, plan bore paths, perform bore and pullback operations, and maintain safety and equipment records.

The ideal candidate has experience with Vermeer or Ditch Witch machinery, strong teamwork, and a commitment to safety compliance on utility construction projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating HDD equipment (Vermeer, Ditch Witch or similar).
• Ability to read construction drawings and utility locates.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel and work outdoors in varying conditions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate directional drilling equipment to install conduit and fiber underground according to project specs.
• Read maps, blueprints and job plans to determine drill paths and locate utilities.
• Conduct bore planning, pilot drilling, reaming, and pullback operations safely.
• Collaborate with locators, crew and project managers to ensure accuracy and completion.
• Perform daily equipment inspections, maintenance and basic repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and procedures.
• Maintain bore logs and material usage records.
• Travel to project sites; overnight stays may be required.
