IMMEDIATE OPENINGS WITH FULL FUNDING. LOOKING FOR IMMEDIATE HIRES.

Purpose:
  • Valkyrie Enterprises seeks an Engineering Technician II to support assembly, installation, and maintenance of equipment requiring mechanical, electrical, wiring, soldering, or connecting skills, including computer maintenance and operations.
  • This position is based in Norfolk, VA, with work at shipyards throughout the Hampton Roads area.
Compensation:

Hourly pay ranges from $29.00 to $31.00.

Job Description:
  • Install, remove, and upgrade electrical, electronic, IC, and C4I systems, including wiring fiber and copper terminal boxes, testing, and verifying connections.
  • Conduct system testing to evaluate performance and functionality.
  • Use technical drawings, manuals, instructions, standards, and specifications for fiber optic and system installation, removal, and upgrades.
  • Utilize optical test equipment and customer wiring drawings for testing and terminating cabling assemblies.
  • Understand cableway improvements and inspections.
  • May perform fire watch and confined space duties.
  • Demonstrate trade skills acquired through education or experience.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; 3-7 years of experience as a Trades and Engineering Technician I.
  • Cableway Improvement Certification and Multi-Pin Connector Certification.
  • NavSea fiber optic certification or ability to obtain it quickly, compliant with Navy standards.
  • Knowledge of power tools, shipboard operations, and NAVSEA standards.
  • Ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to obtain a passport.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Additional qualifications such as Fiber Fabrication, Shipyard Competent Person, Permit Authorization.
Security and Travel:
  • Must qualify for and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • Moderate travel required, up to 50% or less.
  • Ability to obtain necessary identification credentials, such as REAL ID.
Physical Requirements:
  • Repetitive motion, climbing, balancing, and other physical activities.
  • Work in environmental conditions such as cold, heat, noise, and confined spaces.
  • Use of protective gear when working with welding, cutting, or molten metals.
