Job summary

GTS is seeking a Fiber Optic Construction Supervisor in Ocala, FL to support aerial and underground construction for FTTH and RDFO projects. You will oversee field crews, ensure safe work practices, and document daily production.

The role requires the ability to read prints and schematics, strong communication, and willingness to work evenings/weekends. A high school diploma and valid driver's license are required; DOT medical certification may be pursued after hire.

FIBER OPTIC CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR - OCALA, FL

A Fiber Optic Construction Supervisor is responsible for supporting the aerial and underground construction efforts for GTS projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• the ability to work safely, with or without supervision.


• the ability to follow instructions and communicate verbally and in writing.


• Completion of low-level and high-level labor-intensive tasks as well as operation of assigned construction equipment.


• Completion of daily production reports to document work performed.


• Additional Construction Supervisor Duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Must present a positive, professional image to employees, customers, and clients in all interactions.

Must have strong communication skills and experience working with customers.

Must have a strong working knowledge of basic hand tools.

Have problem-solving skills and able to think on your feet.

Have a good working knowledge of computers.

Ability to work evenings and weekends.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Must have a valid driver's license.

Must be able to pass a nationwide background check and drug screen.

Must be able to obtain DOT Medical Certification

Key Requirements

• Management and supervision supporting fiber optic construction requirements in FTTH, RDFO projects.


• Must be able to do ride outs.


• Ability to read prints and schematics.


• Thorough knowledge of "As-built Documents".

Work Environment

Exposure to varying temperatures as work is primarily outside.

Noise levels are moderate to heavy.

Work in different types of terrain including water, sand, and dirt.

Varying degrees of light as work may begin early morning and continue in the evenings and overnight.

Physical and Other Requirements

Must be able to carry 60-70 1bs, to include an extension ladder.

Must be able to work at 28 feet or higher.

Must be able to work in all weather conditions.

Must be able to bend, stand, sit, crawl, climb and lift throughout work shift.

Required Education and Experience

Must possess a valid Driver's License during the term of employment.
