Job summary

The Network Operations & Asset Management Technician role at GCS involves supporting the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of telecommunications network infrastructure. This includes asset management, materials logistics, preventive maintenance of critical systems, and ensuring network reliability across multiple transmission technologies and equipment.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of fiber, Ethernet, SONET, and IP networks.
• Familiarity with AC/DC power systems and critical infrastructure maintenance.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and network troubleshooting processes.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and maintain accurate records.
• Willingness to learn ticketing, provisioning and inventory systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot network equipment, isolate faults and restore services quickly.
• Remove/replace defective modules and track lifecycle.
• Assist installation, provisioning, testing and maintenance of services from DS0 through OC192.
• Support deployment/testing of Fiber, Ethernet, IP, SONET and edge compute tech.
• Install and test CPE and transmission equipment.
• Document actions in trouble ticketing systems and reports.
• Collaborate with internal/external teams to resolve issues.
