Selectek in Tucker, GA seeks a Fiber Network Engineer/Coordinator to plan, design and oversee growing fiber networks. You’ll bridge field work with network operations, review designs, and coordinate with vendors and NOC teams to ensure reliability and timely activations.

The role emphasizes strong communication, meticulous documentation, and hands-on testing with OTDRs and meters, supported by CAD and GIS tools, in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field is required.
• 3+ years of experience in OSP fiber design, engineering, or construction coordination.
• Strong understanding of fiber network infrastructure and ability to interpret OTDR traces.

Responsibilities

• Perform OSP fiber route designs for aerial and underground networks.
• Support field walkouts, permitting activities, and engineering reviews.
• Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and network operations personnel.
• Monitor network performance, reliability, and outage response activities.
• Assist in troubleshooting, commissioning, and network activations.
• Support fiber optic testing using OTDRs, power meters, and visual fault locators.
• Review splice plans, construction drawings, fiber schematics, and test results.
• Maintain project documentation, as-builts, certification reports, and fiber asset records.
• Update network diagrams, splice logs, rack layouts, and test documentation.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support network events and outage response.
• Ensure compliance with industry best practices for cable management, labeling, grounding, and environmental protection.
