Job summary

Lecom Utility Contractors, Inc. is seeking a field technician in Grand Rapids, MI to install and maintain outside plant cabling, including copper and fiber, from bucket trucks and on poles. You will work on customer sites and ensure high-quality, safe installations.

The role requires climbing, ability to read construction prints, and willingness to travel for project sites. Heavy equipment experience and lifting up to 50 lbs are preferred assets for this position.

Qualifications

• Able to climb poles and work from aerial devices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction prints/plans.
• Experience operating heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Connects, rearranges, repairs, and maintains outside cable to supply and maintain service.
• Place aerial/buried telephone cable (copper and fiber).
• Work from a bucket truck efficiently and safely.
• Connects wires to terminals and attaches hardware to wires, cables, buildings, or poles.
• Perform aerial tasks such as new cable installs, pole transfers, strand building, cable hanging, lashing.
