Job summary

NextLink in Hudson Oaks, Texas, is seeking a Field Operations: Installation – Fiber technician to install conduit paths under driveways, bore under surfaces, and place fiber drops. You will handle vaults, perform landscaping restoration, and maintain customer communication.

The role demands physical capability, experience with basic hand tools, and a valid driver’s license. You will work outdoors in a team, with mandatory PPE and a flexible schedule, typically full-time.

Job Summary:

The applicant will have the knowledge, skills and ability to successfully operate the fiber drop plow, bore under driveways, use utility locating equipment, hand dig utility potholes, install vaults, landscaping restoration, and communicate with customers on drop and equipment placement.

Essential Functions:

Education and Experience:

Work Environment /Hazards:

• Working in outdoor elements such as cold, hot, precipitation and wind
• In proximity of heavy machinery and moving vehicles
• Moderate noise level

• Working on elevated structures such as roofs, attics, and on ladders
• High level of interaction with external/internal clients

Physical Demands:

• Frequently moving, transporting, positioning objects of at least 75 pounds or more

• Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffoldings, ramps, poles, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms

• Must be able to climb roof tops of all types and perform job duties from high places.

• Must be able to work in small areas such as customer attics

• Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, sit, and climb ladders and communication towers and work in an elevated position

• Frequently required to use hand and power tools

Working Hours/Days:

• Full Time
• Min 40 hours, flexible schedule
• Overtime as needed

Travel Requirements:

• 0-30% travel required
