Job summary

NANA in Alaska is seeking a Broadband Technician to install, maintain, and repair fiber optic networks and customer service drops across communities. You will install and terminate cables, test performance, and troubleshoot field issues while adhering to safety standards and company policies.

The role requires physical readiness for outdoor work, operation of service vehicles, and on-call availability during nights, weekends, and holidays to ensure reliable broadband service for customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with fiber optic installation, splicing, and troubleshooting preferred.
• Familiarity with aerial cable installation and safety protocols preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install and terminate fiber optic cables, including aerial service drops.
• Respond to service orders and trouble tickets for installations and repairs.
• Install ONTs, fiber jacks, jumpers, modems and related hardware.
• Perform splicing and testing of fiber optic cables.
• Diagnose connectivity issues in the field with test equipment.
• Maintain aerial fiber infrastructure and splicing tools.
• Document splicing activities and update system maps.
• Operate and maintain 4‑wheelers and snowmobiles.
• Climb poles to install and maintain aerial fiber.
• Travel to job sites as required and work on call.
