Job description

I&R Combo Technician

We are looking for experienced I&R combo Technicians who perform drop work, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of POTS (Plain Old Telephone), high-speed internet, ONT installations, as well as residential Fiber installs. This includes wiring, video equipment, and voice networks. Maintaining and repairing outside copper plant and fiber facilities within assigned geographic service areas is also included.

Specific job duties include:

• Drop work includes hanging aerial drops, pulling drops in conduit/subduct.
• The ability to work independently in the field with little supervision.
• Observe all safety rules and regulations.
• Direct customer-facing work, displaying a professional appearance and demeanor when communicating products and services to customers.
• Accountability/dependability (on time and on load when scheduled and serve on call as needed).
• Teamwork (technical expertise developed to complete work efficiently to achieve work group key service measures).
• Active listening (ability to take input from customers, APS, and co-workers to problem-solve and improve skills).

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
• Technician must have their own truck, van, or SUV with ladder rack.
• Technician must have their own tools to perform the job as well as an Android smartphone and laptop.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Must have Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including lace-up boots with a defined 1/2-inch heel, a hard hat, a reflective safety vest, a fall resistor, and safety cones.
• Must be available to work flexible hours (weekend work may be required).

Physical Requirements:

• Physical ability to work in various conditions, including working in attics, crawl spaces, and in adverse weather conditions.
• Physical ability to work from a kneeling or standing position for long periods.
• Physical ability to climb ladders with proper equipment (safety belt, safety strap, hard hat, and other equipment as needed).
• Able to lift and carry loads up to 75 lbs including ladder.
