Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Tech, Mammography-FGP (35). In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for performing medically prescribed diagnostic mammographic and bone density procedures, ensuring patient safety protocols, and functioning as the first line interface with patients.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Demonstrates knowledge of the hospital and radiology information systems as they relate to radiology.
2. Selects appropriate patient information from HIS/RIS system in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
3. Accesses patient information; schedules exams; appointment times; type of exam, patient reports, etc.
4. Follows departmental HIS/RIS system procedures and protocol to ensure orders are verified and processed correctly.
5. Effectively assesses patient information and status, and follows appropriate procedure(s) accordingly.
6. Uses standard procedures to identify the correct patient.
7. Reviews patient requisition and understands the type of exam required by each requisition and confers with medical staff regarding clarification when necessary.
8. Demonstrates skill in equipment set-up, utilization, and proper maintenance procedures.
9. Performs visual and manual quality control checks of radiographic equipment.
10. Observes and reports any malfunctioning of the equipment and notifies appropriate persons in case of missing or damaged equipment.
11. Independently implements patient procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards.
12. Explains the procedure and equipment to the patient clearly.
13. Solves problems that arise during patient examinations using both technical knowledge and innovation.
14. Alters examination to maximize information in response to patient's condition.
15. Confers with other technologists concerning previous approaches utilized.
16. Follows accepted radiologic procedures and uses medical information to determine type of protocol required for radiographic examination.
17. Consults policy and procedure manuals and/or other reference materials as necessary to ensure actions conform to established protocols.
18. Follows special instructions indicated on radiographic requisition. Recognizes need for and follows isolation precautions.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify, you must have a Certificate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology, New York State license or temporary permit to practice, Diagnostic Radiology Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and Advanced Certification in Mammography.

Preferred Qualifications:
College graduate with two years experience in Mammographic procedures.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $102,820.00 - $114,840.40 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
