UCLA is seeking a qualified Registered Dental Assistant to join our dental team. You will support dentists in clinical procedures, maintain patient records, and ensure strict infection control standards.

The role requires HIPAA knowledge, 4-handed dentistry skills, and proficiency with Dentrix scheduling and billing. Strong English communication and organization are essential to serve diverse patients and faculty.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge and practice of patient rights and laws relative to those rights, such as HIPAA (Required)


• Working knowledge of principles of 4-handed dentistry, dental terminology, materials, equipment and procedures related to dentistry. (Required)


• Working knowledge of principles of infection control, and sterilization procedures. (Required)


• Ability to work with infectious diseased patients. (Required)


• Ability to recognize an emergency situation and respond appropriately. (Required)


• Demonstrate English writing skills to write accurate and legible entries in patient dental records. (Required)


• Excellent written, verbal communication and customer service skills to collect and relate information to diverse patients, staff and faculty of all levels. (Required)


• Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in person, by phone and in writing. (Required)


• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy to maintain an inventory of dental instruments, equipment, and supplies in the working operatories. (Required)


• Ability to perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload, frequent interruptions and ability to set priorities to reflect relative importance of job responsibility. (Required)


• Demonstrated skills to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty members, co-workers, patients and the public. (Required)


• Skills to effectively utilize Dentrix computerized scheduling and billing system. (Preferred)

• Registered Dental Assistant, State of California Current (Required)

Special Conditions for Employment

• Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.


• Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.


• Age Requirement: Candidate(s) must be 18 years or older to be eligible to be hired.


• COVID and Flu Vaccinations: The position is subject to providing evidence of inoculation.
