Qualifications

Job description

Are you passionate about helping children express and process their emotions through play? Doral Health & Wellness is seeking a skilled and compassionate Play Therapist to join our dynamic team!

Type: FFS 1099 Independent Contractor

Specialty: Helping children and youth use play therapy techniques to better understand and express their feelings, emotions, behaviors, and experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct play therapy sessions to support children in coping with emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges.
  • Design and implement therapeutic programs tailored to meet the unique emotional needs of pediatric patients.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to provide holistic care.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate records of therapy sessions, progress, and outcomes.
  • Create a safe and supportive environment that encourages children to express themselves and process their experiences through play.

Qualifications:

  • Play Therapist with a Master’s Degree from a program recognized by the New York State Education Department.
  • Current Play Therapist Registration conferred by the Association for Play Therapy
  • Experience working with the Medically Fragile pediatric population is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Passionate about using play as a therapeutic tool to promote emotional well-being and healing.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Rate: $40 per hour
