Job summary

Montezuma-Cortez SD RE-1 - Cortez Middle School in Cortez, Colorado is seeking a part-time FFA Coach for the 2026 season. The coach will instruct students in fundamentals, strategy, and physical training while promoting character development and citizenship.

Qualifications

• The coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions.

Responsibilities

• Has a thorough knowledge of all the FFA policies approved by the Montezuma Cortez Re-1 Schools’ Board of Education and is responsible for their implementation.
• Maintains discipline and works to increase morale and cooperation within the school sports program.
• Assists in scheduling, providing transportation to tournaments and special sport events.
• Provides documentation to the athletic director to fulfill state and system requirements concerning physical examinations, parental consent and eligibility.
• Directs student managers, assistants and statisticians.
