Job summary

Ascension is seeking a skilled Sonographer in Austin, TX, within the Women’s Health - Maternal Fetal Medicine department. The role focuses on high-complexity fetal ultrasounds for high-risk obstetric patients, under direct supervision of MFM physicians, with emphasis on first-trimester screenings, Level II anatomy scans, and specialized fetal echocardiography.

The position requires ARDMS fetal echocardiography credentials within 24 months of hire, with opportunities to perform invasive procedure

Qualifications

• ARDMS credential in Fetal Echocardiography required within 24 months of hire.
• One or more of the following ARDMS credentials: Fetal Echocardiography or Obstetrics & Gynecology, obtained prior to hire date/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-complexity fetal ultrasound examinations for high-risk obstetric patients under MFM physician supervision.
• Conduct first-trimester screenings and Level II anatomy scans for chromosomal anomalies and fetal development concerns.
• Deliver specialized fetal echocardiography and biophysical profiles with accurate EHR documentation.
• Assist during invasive procedures (amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling) under ultrasound guidance.
• Communicate ultrasound findings and reports to the interdisciplinary team for patient care.
