Job summary

Washington State Ferries (WSF), a division of WSDOT, seeks a Project Engineer to lead construction delivery, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget compliance for ferry infrastructure projects. You will coordinate with contractors, consultants, and agencies; deliver plans that are constructable and compliant; manage risks and progress reporting to leadership.

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer license in Civil Engineering in Washington required.
  • Deep knowledge of highway design, PS&E, and project delivery methods (design‑bid‑build and design‑build).
  • Experience managing complex capital transportation projects with schedule, budget, and quality constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee construction, interpret plans and specs, monitor progress and payments.
  • Plan work, staffing, resolve engineering problems, manage scope, schedule and budget.
  • Collaborate with contractors, consultants and agencies to minimize change orders and delays.
