Qualifications

• Blueprints, shop drawings, weld symbols and specs must be read accurately.
• Weld ferrous metals including carbon steel, mild steel, and structural steel.
• Experience with MIG/GMAW and Flux-Cored FCAW welding.
• Ability to perform precise fit-up and welding on custom components.
• Measure, align, and inspect fabricated parts accurately.
• Identify and correct distortion, warping, and misalignment in welds.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and safe practices.
• Own welding helmet and pass on-site welding test.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and shop drawings to determine material and weld sequence.
• Fit, fabricate, tack, and weld carbon steel, mild steel, structural steel components.
• Perform MIG/GMAW and FCAW as required by job and procedure.
• Prepare materials for welding and ensure proper fit-up.
• Position and align parts using measuring tools and fixtures.
• Inspect welds for quality and conformance to specs.
• Identify and correct fit-up issues and distortions before final weld.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain equipment.
