Job summary

Locus Fermentation Solutions in Solon, OH seeks a part-time Project Engineer to oversee the installation of fermentation tanks and the supporting facility. The role requires coordinating between internal teams, tank fabricators, structural contractors, and MEPs to ensure timely, compliant buildouts.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical or civil/structural background with 3+ years of relevant experience and will perform on-site supervision, ensure safety, and track progress across multiple tanks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a mechanical/civil/structural or related discipline is required.
• 3+ years of experience in project engineering, facility layout design, or heavy equipment installation.
• Proficiency reading industrial blueprints, structural schematics, and piping layouts.
• Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or BIM/Revit is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of foundation loading, structural support systems, and rigging procedures for large vessels.

Responsibilities

• Engineering coordination: review and validate drawings, datasheets, and P&IDs for tanks and building design.
• Vendor & contractor management: act as technical liaison with fabricators, structural contractors, and foundation crews.
• Spatial & rigging logistics: coordinate tank integration into building layout with proper clearances and load ratings.
• On-site supervision: conduct weekly inspections in Northeast Ohio to monitor progress and resolve issues.
• Project tracking: maintain schedules, manage RFIs, review submittals, and ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
