Job summary

WBS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Project Specialist 1 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The role focuses on supporting federal regulatory compliance efforts, including proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and on regulatory filings, cost of service, and RTO/ISO processes. Some state regulatory work may be required.

A hybrid work arrangement may be available. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree and at least one year of related utility experience, plus

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of one year of professional experience in utility operations or related field preferred with emphasis in accounting, finance, compliance or regulatory.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point, Access (or similar database technologies) is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting business activities intended to ensure compliance with FERC requirements
  • Monitoring and reporting on FERC related developments
  • Preparing and submitting basic documents to FERC
  • Coordinating updates to training presentations
  • Supporting preparation and submission of regulatory applications and pleading to FERC
  • Support state regulatory initiatives/projects, including development of cost allocation models and data collection from corporate users
