Job summary

American Fence Company is hiring a Rental Fence Installation Helper in Perris, CA. The role supports installation, removal and repair of rental fence panels, with pay ranging from $22.00 to $26.00 per hour based on experience.

A valid driver’s license and background check are required, and you’ll work on-site with safety as a priority. Typical duties include site preparation, posting and aligning posts, handling panels, operating equipment, and ensuring quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Assist in site preparation for fence installation.
• Locate markings and follow underground utility safety requirements.
• Align posts and verify vertical alignment using plumb bobs or levels.
• Pound posts into ground using jack hammer or pounds.
• Attach fence rail supports to posts with basic hand tools.
• Install privacy panels as required and secure panels on posts or stands.
• Repair broken post braces and field-repair temporary panels.
• Move panels and materials to the site and load/unload equipment.
• Operate forklift and load/unload trucks when needed.
• Inspect panels for damage and tag damaged units.

Job description

We are looking for a Rental Fence Installation Helper that not only wants to have a job but to have a long term career. Pay is $22.00 - $26.00per hour depending on experience. This position is responsible for assisting with installation, removal and repairing of rental fence panels. Successful candidates will have demonstrated reliability,integrity,andan excellent work ethic.

Overview of duties:

• Assist in preparing the site area for installation of the fence.
• Locate, understand markings, and follow requirements for underground utility safety prior to pounding posts into ground.
• Align posts, using lines or by sighting, and verify vertical alignment of posts, using plumb bobs or spirit levels.
• Pound posts into ground, asphalt or concrete using jack hammer, core drill and/or a gas/air pounder.
• Attach fence rail supports to posts, using hammers and pliers.
• Install privacy panels as required per specifications.
• Install rental fence panels on posts or stands per customer request and stablize with sandbags or weights as needed.
• Repair broken post braces as needed.
• Field repair temporary fence panels for quality assurance.
• Carry panels and materials to site for installation.
• Operate forklift and attachments for loading and unloading of trucks and moving materials on company property or at job sites.
• Remove rental fence panels from site and safely load on the truck for transportation back to branch.
• Inspect all panels for damage, tag damaged panels and determine if the damages need to be charged back to the customer.
• Inspect and complete safety checklist for all equipment, power tools, and machinery prior to each use.
• Follow company and government safety/health rules and regulations.

Experience Required:

• 1 year heavy construction preferred
• Prior fencing experience preferred

Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record (no DUI/DWI). We conduct a thorough background check and drug screen.
