Job summary

FormFactor, Inc. in Livermore, CA is seeking a Femtosecond Laser Manufacturing Engineer to develop, optimize, and sustain ultra-high-precision laser processes for next-generation semiconductor products.

You will lead micromachining for ceramics and advanced materials, collaborate across Product, Wafer, Manufacturing, and Equipment Engineering, and drive automation, process qualification, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years related experience or equivalent
• Hands-on femtosecond laser processing experience
• Experience developing precision laser micromachining for ceramics or advanced materials
• Strong understanding of laser-material interaction and edge quality
• Experience with laser recipes and high-precision manufacturing
• Knowledge of SPC, DOE, process capability, and root cause analysis
• Ability to produce engineering documentation and work instructions
• Excellent analytical and cross-functional teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and sustain femtosecond laser processes for advanced semiconductor products.
• Create high‑precision laser processes for ceramics and advanced materials.
• Automate femtosecond laser recipes to improve capability and efficiency.
• Evaluate laser parameters and optimize scanning, focus, and beam alignment.
• Support NPI, process qualification, and implementation for new products.
• Maintain SPC-based process controls and data‑driven decision making.
• Document processes with work instructions, FMEAs, and specifications.
• Train technicians and collaborate across engineering teams to drive improvements.
