Job summary

AC Disaster Consulting is seeking a Public Assistance Compliance Specialist to support FEMA PA grant lifecycles from eligibility through closeout. The role is remote with occasional travel to onsite locations in TN, requiring strong Excel skills and deep knowledge of disaster recovery programs.

Expect 5+ years of FEMA PA experience, experience in multiple disaster recoveries, and the ability to coordinate with diverse stakeholders in a fast-paced emergency management environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of FEMA public assistance and grant experience.
• Categories A, B, and E knowledge.
• Experience in at least 2 major disaster recovery efforts.
• Experience in EOC support.
• Proficient in MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support applicants through the FEMA PA grant lifecycle from damage identification to closeout readiness.
• Conduct site inspections, damage assessments, and scoping of disaster-related work.
• Write Project Worksheets in the Grants Portal, including damage descriptions and costs.
• Gather and upload supporting documentation (contracts, invoices, photos, etc.).
• Apply Stafford Act, PAPPG, and 2 CFR 200 standards to eligibility and cost questions; flag issues early.
• Respond to FEMA/state RFIs and correct documentation gaps.
• Track project status, deadlines, and risks; update leadership.
• Coordinate with applicants, state/federal staff, and internal specialists.
