Job summary

Avera is seeking a PRN Cook Assistant to support kitchen operations at the Avera Majestic Bluffs/Sister James Care Center. Responsibilities include light food preparation, plating, stock handling, catering support, and clean-up tasks. This role emphasizes teamwork and adherence to safety standards.

The position is PRN with rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends, requiring flexibility to meet meal service needs and maintain food quality for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work the hours specified and perform essential duties.
• Good visual acuity to perform duties and communicate effectively.
• Ability to understand and follow safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items for assigned area.
• Meet standards established by Leader for food preparation, quality, sanitation, and efficiency.
• Make recommendations to Leader for all menus.
• Complete daily assigned cleaning in accordance with approved standards.
• Stocks refrigerator, storerooms, work areas with labeling and dating procedures, food temperature record keeping.
• May operate dish machine, garbage disposal, steam tables, coffee makers, toasters, food processor, espresso machine, and coffee grinder.
• Serves meals/beverages with attention to temperature maintenance.
