Feed Sales Account Specialist

We are hiring a sales specialist focused on animal nutrition sales within the Western/Northwest Arkansas area. This role offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate with Purina team members to increase feed sales and improve profitability using Purina technology. The emphasis will be on grass cattle (80%) and equine.

This is a remote (virtual) field-based sales position, located within Western or Northwest Arkansas.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Conduct targeted prospect calls to develop new and existing business; actively call on customers in the field.
  2. Analyze sales results to determine growth opportunities and develop responses to underperformance.
  3. Support sales growth strategies with key stakeholders, incorporating Purina feed programs and technologies.
  4. Develop training programs to meet farm needs.
  5. Collaborate with local Arkansas team and sales leadership to develop annual and strategic business plans.
  6. Maintain accurate client records and provide tracking reports within the CRM.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related agriculture field preferred; relevant experience may be considered.
  • 5-6 years of experience in animal science/nutrition/feed with a proven sales record preferred.
  • Solid understanding of the grass cattle industry, management practices, and nutritional guidelines.
  • Strong relationship-building, public speaking, leadership, and business acumen.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% overnight.
  • Basic knowledge of animal nutrition and management recommendations.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
Compensation:

Base salary ranges from $87,000 to $107,000, depending on experience, plus a target incentive of $30,000 annually. Compensation includes a mix of base salary and commission.
