Job summary

AgState in Newell, IA is looking for a Feed Operations Technician to join our feed division. Under the location leader, you will receive feed ingredients and ensure orders are filled on time while maintaining safety and quality.

• Experience with feed operations and safety standards is preferred.
• Ability to operate in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate control room/scale in feed mill setting.
• Receive feed ingredients and transfer to bins.
• Fill feed orders daily, ensuring quality and customer satisfaction.
• Document maintenance per OSHA standards.
• Perform daily equipment checks.
• Follow housekeeping standards.
• Make minor equipment improvements as needed.
• Assist with other locations when required.
• Maintain energetic, positive team attitude.
• Monitor bin inventories across shifts.
• Run PLCs and troubleshoot as needed.
• Work flexible hours and overtime when required.

YOU WILL:

• Operate control room/scale in feed mill setting providing sound technical ability.
• Receive feed ingredients and transfer to appropriate bins.
• Fill feed orders daily, ensuring quality and satisfaction for the customer base.
• Documentation of maintenance according to OSHA Standards.
• Assist with the performance of daily maintenance checks on all running equipment.
• Comply with all company housekeeping standards.
• Make minor improvements to equipment and facilities, as needed.
• Assist with other locations, as needed.
• Must be an energetic team player with a positive attitude.
• Monitor bin inventories to ensure adequate operating inventories for all shifts.
• Perform quality assurance checks daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Must keep work areas clean, well swept, and neat in appearance always.
• Operations of PLC’s.
• Willing to work flexible hours and overtime as required.
• Comply with all company safety policies for AgState.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Job requires standing for most of the shift.
• Stooping, bending, climbing exposure to heights, exposure to heat and cold may also be involved.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. from the floor to minimum height of 36”.
• Work overtime as required.
• Ability to work in a feed mill environment.
• Requires a high degree of attention and dexterity.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• May require a Class ACDL or be willing to obtain.
