Job description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to the following:

Operations

• Operate computerized batch mixing equipment, receiving and load-out equipment, micro-ingredient addition, and grinding equipment.
• Assist in other areas of the location as needed.

Maintenance

• Maintains inventory at desired levels.
• Performs housekeeping duties and maintains a clean work environment.
• Assist in the maintenance of equipment.
• Ensures that work area, equipment, and vehicles are all neat, clean, and well maintained.

Documentation & Standards

• Fulfills all reporting and record-keeping requirements.
• Follows standards of quality as outlined by QMS and other manufacturing and regulatory controls.

Other

• Use all tools, equipment, and vehicles carefully and for their intended use.
• Works extended hours as requested by supervisor to ensure good customer service in busy season.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Must be licensed and insurable to drive.
• High school diploma or GED with 1-3 months of related experience.
• Must be able to operate a forklift safely and effectively.
• Understand the importance of providing extremely high levels of customer service.
• Possesses basic mathematical and mechanical skills, problem-solving capabilities, and understands the operational processes.
• Prior experience and knowledge of Microsoft, Excel, and Office 365 is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Understand the seasonality of the farm supply business and the in-season time commitment.
• Must be able to interact and effectively communicate with customers and individuals at all levels of the organization.
