Job summary

CHS Inc. is seeking a hardworking Feed Mill Operator to support the Animal Nutrition team in Shenandoah, IA. You will operate mills, bagging, mixing, receiving, and loadout tasks, using computer systems to monitor production and enter data.

The role offers a Monday–Friday 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. schedule with overtime opportunities, competitive pay, and a comprehensive benefits package. Candidates should have knowledge of operations in agricultural environments and be able to work extended hours

  • Follow safety and quality standards to meet daily production targets.

Summary

CHS Inc. is looking for a hardworking individual to join our Animal Nutrition team in Shenandoah, IA as a Feed Mill Operator. In this role, you\'ll be a key part of producing high-quality feed and ingredients that support animal health. No two days are the same as you\'ll perform a variety of operational tasks, including bagging, mixing, receiving, managing loadout functions, and utilizing computer systems to monitor production, enter data, and support daily operations based on business needs. This position offers a Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. schedule with overtime opportunities, competitive pay, and unbeatable benefits.

Responsibilities
  • Under general supervision, operate feed mill equipment (grinders, mixers, batching/ pelleting systems) of a processing facility. Responsible for product quality, meeting safety requirements, and throughput in the assigned area.
  • Receive, handle, and move feed ingredients, load and unload trucks
  • Prepare and manage loadout, including opening hatches, attaching hoses, sampling, and ensuring accurate product delivery
  • Monitor batching/scaling systems and adjust processes to maintain feed quality and production accuracy
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance (greasing, inspections, minor troubleshooting) and report mechanical issues
  • Maintain a clean, safe mill environment through daily housekeeping, spill cleanup, and site upkeep
  • Follow all safety, quality, and compliance standards while working with the team to meet daily production target
Minimum Qualifications (required)
  • Knowledge of operations, production, manufacturing and/or agriculture environments.
  • Must meet minimum age requirement
Additional Qualifications
  • Ability to operate machinery such as conveyors, forklfits and electric hoist
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands
  • Working knowledge of basic computer functions.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Agriculture experience preferred
  • Forklift certification preferred

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work independently for extended periods of time, as well as in confined spaces and in hazardous environments.
  • Ability to spend long periods of time on your feet including walking, standing and climbing steps and ladders, and working at heights up to 120 ft.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to wear all required protective equipment may include respirators, hard hats, and eye and hearing protection.
  • Ability to use both automated and manual tools and equipment.
  • Ability to shovel, sweep, load, unload, lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs frequently
  • Ability to work in noisy,dusty, and all-weather conditions

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
