A leading company in Louisiana is seeking a Maintenance Technician to assist in all phases of maintenance, focusing on electrical and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and be physically capable of performing various tasks. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing equipment, and maintaining records. This role requires flexibility to work weekends and overtime as needed.
Assist in performing all phases of maintenance, including electrical and mechanical systems (i.e., fabricating, welding, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and performing required preventative maintenance).
Maintain required records and report in writing any uncorrected mechanical/electrical defects and replacement parts to the supervisor.
Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
Physically, must be able to: climb ladders and stairs, work from ladders/scaffolds, work in pits, bend, kneel, walk frequently, work in high places and in silos.
Preferably familiar with all phases of maintenance, including electrical and mechanical systems; able to learn mill flow patterns (dry and liquid), and proper lubricating techniques for mill equipment.
Capable of performing routine services, troubleshooting, and repairing most mill equipment.
Some familiarity with welding and fabricating is preferred.
Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as required and scheduled.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and good time management skills are essential.
