Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced maintenance technician for our feed mill facility in Rose Hill, NC. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing feed mill machinery, documenting maintenance activities, and adhering to safety and environmental standards.

You will troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic systems, follow preventive maintenance programs, and contribute to cost-effective upkeep while ensuring production schedules are met.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 1 year of successful industrial maintenance experience required.
• Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and assemble feed mill equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues, including solid-state circuitry, 110 V control circuits, lighting circuits, VFD and soft-start drives, and 3-phase circuitry.
• Ability to read and speak English.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Experience with pneumatic systems, including compressors, cylinders, and solenoid valve troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Experience with liquid systems, including positive displacement pumps, metering system calibration, automatic valves, and plumbing.
• Ability to work with and around a wide range of chemicals and feed ingredients.
• Ability to tolerate grain dust, chemical odors, noisy conditions, and extreme seasonal temperatures.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Must be supportive of producing high-quality pellet feed.
• Must acquire and maintain necessary certifications, including forklift, LOTO, and confined space certifications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and repairs of feed mill machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Evaluate, repair, and maintain precise equipment maintenance records.
• Conduct daily maintenance activities and establish additional maintenance schedules.
• Follow standard operating maintenance procedures when replacing, adjusting, and installing feed mill equipment.
• Identify maintenance problems and develop corrective and preventive strategies.
• Develop and improve a cost-effective Preventative Maintenance Program.
• Develop and communicate parts replacement and repair guidelines.
• Promote safety awareness and clean housekeeping practices.
• Monitor and maintain all feed mill equipment.
• Ensure repair procedures are properly followed.
• Comply with environmental laws, EMS policies, food safety requirements, and company procedures.
• Establish or adjust maintenance procedures and schedules to meet production schedules.
• Maintain shift maintenance reports and maintenance records using the Methods system.
• Manage critical parts inventory.
• Perform housekeeping duties as requested.
• Maintain and ensure the safety of employees and company assets.
• Report environmental and food safety issues to the mill manager.
• Review the company emergency notification process and policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
