Cactus Feeders is an Amarillo, Texas-based cattle company. Founded by the Engler Family in 1975, we operate 15 Feedyards and Outside Cattle Locations, producing over a million head of fed cattle annually across Texas Panhandle, Southwest Kansas, and Eastern Colorado.

Syracuse, Kansas

About The Position:

• Full-Time Position
• Extended work hours Monday through Friday; may include holidays and weekends

Job Description:

The Feed Foreman manages cattle intake through daily feed calls and ration delivery, supervises the feed delivery crew, and reports to the Growyard Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

Cattle Feed Intake:

• Determine daily feed calls based on cattle behavior, health, weight, and weather, using visual assessments.
• Coordinate feed, hay, and cattle shipping/receiving schedules.

Productivity:

• Manage feed truck crew to ensure timely and accurate feed delivery, including ration inspection.

Expense Budgets:

• Assist in managing daily operating expenditures for feed delivery.

Truck Maintenance:

• Oversee preventive and scheduled maintenance on trucks and feeding systems.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Train new employees, assist with performance reviews, supervise staff, and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Degree in an agriculture-related field preferred but not required.
• Experience in cattle production segments preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and prioritization skills.
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to contribute to the cattle industry.
