Job Description |
ECU Department of Campus Recreation and Wellness is currently seeking several North Recreational Complex (NRC) Utility Workers. All work will be performed outside at the North Recreational Complex location. These employees must be available to work approximately 12 to 38 hours each week between the hours of 7:00 am and 4:00 pm. There is no weekend or nighttime work required. Applicants must be prepared to work in various weather conditions. Employees will learn all facets of properly maintaining an athletic complex, including basic sports turf fundamentals, field layouts, painting, turf equipment, and cultivation practices for turf grass.
Responsibilities: (Not limited to)
- Mowing, edging, and weed trimming
- Pruning and backpack blowing
- Trash pick-up and spraying
- Painting athletic fields
- Assembling athletic equipment

Qualifications:
- Must be a currently enrolled ECU student in good academic standing
- Valid NC driver's license
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Experience in operating gas-powered equipment
- Any prior experience in landscaping, sports turf management, or operating heavy equipment is a plus
- Experience in maintenance, grounds-keeping, or a related field preferred
