Job Description:

ECU Department of Campus Recreation and Wellness is seeking certified Aquatic Lifeguards for Summer 2025. Lifeguards will ensure the safety of patrons using our aquatic facilities, especially during summer camp activities and special events.

Term of Employment: May 19, 2025 – August 15, 2025

Position Title: Summer Aquatic Lifeguard

Hourly Pay: $14.00

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safety of participants, focusing on summer camp groups and activities.
  • Monitor pool and surrounding areas to prevent accidents and ensure safety.
  • Enforce all aquatic facility rules and regulations.
  • Respond to emergencies with first aid, CPR, and lifesaving techniques.
  • Conduct safety inspections and assist with pool maintenance and cleaning.
  • Complete incident and accident reports promptly.
  • Provide excellent customer service and engage positively with participants, parents, and guardians.
  • Attend mandatory training sessions to maintain certifications and skills.

Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a Lifeguard, including CPR, First Aid, and AED.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Previous lifeguarding experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
