Job summary

Academy of Art University is seeking a Federal Work Study MUS Technician to support daily operations in classrooms, labs, and rehearsal spaces. You will assist students and faculty, maintain equipment, and handle routine administrative tasks in the Music and Sound Department.

This position offers up to 20 hours weekly, with pay at $19.61 per hour and opportunities to develop customer service and lab skills for students. It is a part-time, on-site role at 180 New Montgomery Street.

Qualifications

• Basic Apple computer skills.
• Familiarity with typical backline equipment (PA System, Guitars, Amplifiers and Drums).
• Familiarity with common music production hardware, software and practices.
• Skilled communicator.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities

• Check students in and out of dept labs and studios.

• Monitor lab usage to ensure students are adhering to lab policies.

The Federal Work Study MUS Technician will assist in the general daily operations of the classrooms, labs/rehearsal space to include supporting students and faculty, ensuring lab equipment is in proper working order, and supporting the Music and Sound Department with basic administrative functions.

This Federal Work Study position will support current students by providing opportunities for students to use the rehearsal space and related equipment and assisting students in the use of the equipment. In addition, this position will complement and reinforce a Federal Work Study student’s educational program or vocational goals by providing opportunities for the Work Study MUS Technician to increase their skills with current equipment, learn customer service skills, and learn basic administrative skills.

Pay Rate:

$19.61 per hour
