Position: Federal Work Study – IT for Library Services

Location: Athens Campus

Department: Financial Aid

Reports to: Shirley Moon, Financial Aid Coordinator

Salary/Benefits: $10.00 per hour. Maximum 19.5 hour week. No State of Georgia benefits.

Responsibilities

• Answer phone and troubleshoot computer problems, including freezing, printing, or booting issues.
• Assist students with library resources such as GALILEO and library catalog searches.
• Teach others about technology equipment available in the library, including the 3D printer, 3D pen, and Sphero.
• Assist students with access to library information.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current student at Athens Technical College who maintains registration for at least 6 credit hours each semester.

Preferred Qualifications

• Enrolled in an eligible program of study, registered for at least 6 credit hours.
• Financial aid file verified by the Office of Financial Aid.
• Strong communication skills and work ethic.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to occasionally lift and carry 5 to 44 pounds.
• Occasional bending.
• Able to see and read PC screens on a daily basis.
• Understand what clients are saying in normal conversation.
• Finger and hand dexterity necessary to service computers and peripherals on a daily basis.
