Job Summary

The Center for Career and Leadership Development (CCLD) is seeking candidates for a Federal Work Study (FWS) position on the Macon Campus.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in establishing and developing relationships with employers by facilitating communication between employers and the CCLD.
  • Research employers and organizations the CCLD can potentially collaborate with.
  • Assist with outreach and promotion of services and events to encourage communication between the CCLD, students, and potential employers including attending and assisting at job fairs, assisting with marketing, and collaborating with other staff members at the university.
  • Organize data from Handshake and other relevant sources ¿ inputting job descriptions for employers, departmental events, assisting with the graduation survey.
  • Assist with office operations (e.g., answering phone calls, assisting walk-ins, etc.) as needed.
  • Assist with communicating professionally and effectively with clients, staff, and employers in both oral and written forms about Handshake, interviewing, professional attire, career fair prep, LinkedIn, job search, and other services.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Currently enrolled student at Middle Georgia State University with a minimum of 6 credit hours
  • Excellent communication skills both in oral and written forms
  • Critical and creative thinking skills
  • Attention to detail
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Majoring in business, marketing, Media & Communication, English, psychology, or other area with interest in business related careers
  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures
  • Customer service experience
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
