Job summary

Summit Point Raceway Associates Inc is seeking a dedicated Firefighter to provide fire protection, rescue response, emergency standby support, and readiness services in fast-paced training environments in Blackstone, VA.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 5+ years of relevant emergency services, and multiple certifications including Firefighter I & II, EMT, CPR/BLS, PHTLS, HazMat, and EVOC Level 2. A valid US driver’s license and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of relevant emergency services or firefighting experience.
• Firefighter I & II Certification (DoD, IFSAC, and/or ProBoard).
• Virginia EMT certification or higher, valid and current.
• Current CPR/BLS certification through AHA or ARC.
• Current PHTLS certification.
• Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations certification.
• EVOC Level 2 certification or equivalent.
• Vehicle Extrication Operations certification/training.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire incidents, rescue operations, extrication, and standby assignments in training and operational missions.
• Support fire suppression, hazard mitigation, scene safety, and coordination.
• Inspect fire apparatus and equipment daily to ensure readiness.
• Operate fire apparatus and emergency vehicles safely in all conditions.
• Coordinate with fire, EMS, and responders during incidents and training activities.
• Assist with evacuations and access control during incidents.
• Maintain readiness in firefighting, rescue, hazmat awareness, and extrication.
• Complete incident reports and equipment documentation promptly.
• Communicate professionally with clients and radio systems in high tempo environments.
• Maintain required certifications and ongoing training requirements.
