Job summary

Everforth ECS seeks a Technical Writer to join its Fairfax, Virginia office in a hybrid onsite/remote capacity. You will transform dense regulatory or technical concepts into plain-language materials through close collaboration with SMEs, program managers, and Security teams.

The role emphasizes SOPs, user manuals, policy handbooks, and executive correspondence, with stringent editing against federal guidelines. Strong MS Office and desktop publishing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 9+ years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Active DoD 8140 IAT Level II Security+ (or higher).
• Exceptional writing and editing ability with major style guides (GPO, APA, Chicago).
• Ability to cite U.S. Code, federal regulations, or agency directives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and desktop publishing tools.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Document creation and revision: SOPs, user manuals, policy handbooks, and executive correspondence.
• Conduct subject matter research, interviews with technical experts, and review designs for accuracy.
• Ensure deliverables comply with federal guidelines (GPO, CIGIE, accessibility).
• Translate technical or legal jargon into accessible formats for non-technical audiences.
• Manage document libraries, revisions, and multi-author configuration control.
• Other duties as assigned.
