The opportunity

We are currently seeking a Manager to join our EDGE Insurance Tax practice. Working with dedicated insurance industry professionals, you will engage in dynamic tax compliance projects to expand your technical knowledge.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a Services Manager, you will manage multiple tasks in a high-performance environment. Your responsibilities include overseeing financial statement audits, reviewing tax returns, and delivering multiple projects to provide exceptional client service to our Insurance clients.

Responsibilities Include
  • Consult with clients, escalating complex tax and relationship matters appropriately to senior management and specialists, coordinating efforts, and managing expectations regarding response and resolution timelines.
  • Deliver and manage compliance and consulting services to meet deadlines.
  • Lead projects and work independently, seeking guidance only in complex situations.
  • Possess specialized expertise in relevant areas.
  • Communicate with client tax liaisons, trust administration teams, and officers to gather information, support informed decisions, and obtain necessary instructions for accurate tax reporting.
  • Support long-term client relationships and manage workflow effectively.
  • Manage engagement deliverables and team resources to ensure timely, accurate tax compliance services while managing engagement economics.
  • Advise on complex tax matters, set expectations, coordinate daily activities, and assign tasks to staff and seniors.
  • Review and evaluate staff work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Provide leadership, feedback, and coaching to team members.
Skills and Attributes for Success
  • Ability to identify and address problem areas to ensure timely, accurate tax work.
  • Experience presenting complex topics to clients.
  • Skill in breaking down complex projects into manageable components and developing client-centric solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, team members, and deadlines simultaneously.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Tax, Law, or Economics with at least 5 years of tax experience.
  • CPA, EA, or licensed attorney certification.
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and SSAP 101.
  • Experience supporting income tax audits and working with insurance companies and C Corporations.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing 1120, 1120 PC, 1120 L, and consolidated group returns.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in state and local taxation, SEC, and team management.
