Job summary

Johnson Controls is hiring an Electronic Security Technician for the FEMA Headquarters in Washington, D.C. The role supportsESS installations, maintenance, and security system programming for federal facilities, with travel to support other FEMA sites.

The position requires a high school diploma and experience with security systems, along with the ability to read blueprints. A DoD security clearance is preferred, and a company vehicle is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience installing and servicing commercial/industrial security systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and manuals.
• Clear communication and teamwork abilities.
• Active DoD Secret clearance (or recently active); Top Secret preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and service ESS: access control, intrusion, CCTV.
• Install per plans and code; follow guidelines and specs.
• Assist with design, setup, and programming of security systems.
• Participate in design reviews and propose improvements.
• Test equipment after installation or repair; verify operation.
• Coordinate with police/fire for installations; handle records.
• Prepare estimates per supervisor directions; train end users.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness during work; perform other duties.
