Job summary

Koniag Government Services is seeking an experienced Security Engineer to support enterprise cybersecurity operations for a federal government client, with primary work at a client site in Washington, DC and approved remote/telework locations.

The role requires an active security clearance or ability to obtain one, and involves designing, implementing, and continuously improving security controls across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments to protect government data and missions under

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field required.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on security engineering/operations experience in federal IT contracting or enterprise security environment.
• Experience implementing and administering enterprise security controls across endpoint, network, and cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise security architectures and control frameworks across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid IT environments.
• Administer SIEM, EDR, DLP, PAM, WAF, and network security monitoring tools.
• Develop and maintain security baseline configurations and hardening standards across Windows, Linux, cloud workloads, and enterprise apps.
• Support vulnerability management, risk-based prioritization, remediation tracking, and reporting.
• Support ATO activities, continuous monitoring, and compliance with Federal frameworks.
