Responsibilities

• Conducts safety and environmental inspections of the institution and prepares a report for the Environmental and Safety Compliance Administrator's review.
• Promotes adherence of safety policy for the facility.
• Assists in training staff and inmates in firefighting, occupational safety and environmental protection.
• Assists in investigations and obtains statements from witnesses and securing physical evidence.
• Prepares factual written reports identifying accidents, injuries, cost of property damage and recommendations to prevent recurrences.
• Develops and conducts safety training classes for inmates and staff.
