Job summary

This position requires specialized education or experience in safety or occupational health, including the ability to identify hazards, participate in inspection teams, analyze accident data, and advise management on corrective actions.
Qualifications
- Education: major study in safety/occupational health, or a related field with 24 sem hrs in safety/occupational health disciplines.
- GL-07: 1 year of graduate education or Superior Academic Achievement.
- GL-09: Master’s degree or 2 years graduate education or LL.B/J.D. if related.
- Experience: at least 1 year of specialized safety/occupational health experience at the next lower grade.
- Experience on survey/inspection teams applying hazard identification techniques.
- Experience observing closing sessions where violations and corrective requirements are discussed with management.
- Experience reviewing past inspection records to understand standards application.
- Experience surveying work to identify hazards and recommend corrective procedures.
- Experience instructing work leaders/employees on standard safety topics and mishap prevention.
- Experience analyzing accident/injury reports to identify trends and appropriate controls.
