Job summary

U.S. Secret Service in Washington, DC is hiring for Uniformed Division Officers to protect facilities and protectees.

Successful candidates will relocate to DC and complete extensive training at FLETC and other centers, with eligibility for a 3-year Schedule B appointment and potential career status. Responsibilities include guarding the White House and other facilities, supporting travels of the President and foreign heads of state, and enforcing protective obligations under law.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and ability to work in the United States.
• Must be at least 20 years old at application and up to 40th birthday.
• Must pass drug tests and background checks.
• Must obtain Top-Secret Clearance.
• Real ID compliant driver's license required.
• Must be able to carry and use a firearm and maintain proficiency.
• Complete 13 weeks of FLETC training and 18 weeks at a training center.
• Schedule B excepted appointment (3 years 120 days) upon appointment.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard the White House complex and other designated facilities.
• Provide security for foreign missions and embassies.
• Travel in support of the President, Vice President, and foreign heads of state.
• Enforce mandated protective responsibilities under applicable law.
