Job summary

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Montana seeks experienced, motivated Assistant U.S. Attorneys to join the Criminal Division in Billings, Helena, or Great Falls. Successful candidates will prosecute complex cases, coordinate with federal law enforcement, and represent the United States in court.

Applicants must have a J.D. degree, be active in the bar, be a U.S. citizen, and be prepared for travel and demanding deadlines.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and active bar membership by duty date.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Assist federal agents in planning investigations and strategies.
• Participate in grand jury proceedings and present witnesses.
• Litigate cases from start to finish with minimal supervision.
• Handle appeals and coordinate office assignments.
