Job summary

Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird seeks an Assistant Attorney General to serve as a prosecutor with the Iowa Joint Fraud and Trafficking Initiative.

The selected candidate will prosecute criminal cases in federal court and will be cross-designated as Special Assistant U.S. Attorneys, working from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Iowa in Des Moines, Davenport, or Council Bluffs. This is a three-year term appointment.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in Iowa.
• Admitted to the Iowa State Bar and federal courts.
• Graduated from an accredited law school.
• Experience trying cases in federal court, especially criminal matters.

Responsibilities

• Prosecute criminal cases in federal court.
• Serve as Special Assistant U.S. Attorney and collaborate with the U.S. Attorney's Office.
• Work out of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Iowa in Des Moines, Davenport, or Council Bluffs.
