U.S. Probation Office of the Southern District of Texas in Houston seeks a U.S. Probation Officer to perform investigations, prepare reports, and provide recommendations to the court in support of community safety.

The role involves supervising offenders, enforcing court-ordered conditions, and coordinating with treatment providers and law enforcement. A strong written and oral communication ability is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with an overall GPA of 2.90+ (out of 4.0).
• At least two years of specialized experience in client-based case work or related fields.
• Strong ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, and to work under limited supervision.

Responsabilités

• Conduct investigations, prepare reports, and make recommendations to the court.
• Enforce supervision components and monitor offenders; assess risk and compliance.
• Schedule and conduct drug tests and DNA collection; maintain custody of testing materials and records.
• Review financial documents and provide financial and restitution-related information to the court.
• Interact with victims, treatment providers, and collateral agencies to support supervision and treatment.
• Communicate with U.S. Parole Commission, Bureau of Prisons, law enforcement, and attorneys regarding offender behavior.
