Job summary

Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) is seeking a full-time Government Affairs Manager in Washington, D.C. to advance legislative and regulatory advocacy for roadway safety.

You will engage federal policymakers, conduct policy research, develop advocacy materials, and monitor developments while supporting GHSA’s advocacy strategy. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in policy/advocacy, a bachelor’s degree, and the ability to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional policy/advocacy experience.
• Experience writing memos, fact sheets, and external briefs.
• Ability to monitor policy developments and conduct research.
• Up to 10% travel to fulfill duties.

Responsibilities

• FEDERAL ADVOCACY: support policy priorities, coordinate advocacy, draft communications.
• POLICY RESEARCH: track legislative and regulatory developments and provide background.
• POLICY COMMUNICATIONS: draft social content and updates for GHSA members.
• GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS TEAM SUPPORT: assist executive engagements and committee work.
• CEO PARTNER SUPPORT: assist the CEO on special projects and meetings.
