BioMarin seeks a Senior Federal Government Affairs leader to develop and execute our U.S. federal advocacy strategy from Washington, DC.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; JD/MPP/MPH/MBA highly preferred.
  • Experience in biotechnology/pharmaceutical/healthcare policy is required.
  • Proven track record in federal government affairs and advocacy campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Develop/own federal government affairs strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Influence legislation and policy on drug pricing, Medicaid/Medicare, FDA frameworks, and rare disease policy.
  • Oversee policy materials (briefings, white papers, comment letters) and marshal evidence/data.
  • Build relationships with Members of Congress/staff, committees, agencies, and White House officials.
  • Lead engagement plans for priority legislation and executive actions.
  • Build/lead a high-performing cross-functional team; ensure advocacy communications.
  • Drive executive participation in hearings, briefings, and policy forums; prepareLeadership for meetings/testimony.
  • Represent BioMarin in industry associations; lead coalition and patient advocacy efforts.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Market Access, Legal/Compliance, Medical/Regulatory, Finance.
